Though kyusu means "tea pot" in Japanese, in the west it is often used to refer specifically to yokode kyūsu- side handled tea pots that allow for easy pouring without touching the hot surface of the pot. This tea pot holds about 150ml of water and features a clay mesh strainer inside to filter the tea leaves from the water when pouring.
Thrown on the wheel with black iron glaze. Made of stoneware and fired to 2232°F/1220°C. Glaze is dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended.
